In April Montez Press and Montez Press Radio partnered with Printed Matter for their LA Art Book Fair. We drove an RV across the country from NYC and set up a live radio broadcast from the parking lot of the MOCA Geffen Contemporary. The broadcast included nonstop live interviews, readings, and performances. Harry Gamboa and Vincent Ramos gave us a historical tour of LA’s Latinx art scene, RE/Search’s V. Vale and No Magazine’s Ewa Wojciak recounted the weirdo, punk publishing scene of decades past, Elliot Reed sang, performed, and yoga’d with strangers passing by, Tierney Finster, Michelle Badillo, and Heather Jewett read stories, The Uhuruverse rapped for us, Pippa Garner chatted in gibberish with visitors from another planet, Amalia Ulman brought on her secret reading group, KCHUNG, LA’s mainstay for artist’s radio, DJ’d late into the night, and so so much more.
